A way to explore the rich history, culture, and architecture of Cusco; a city in Peru that was once the capital of the Inca Empire. Here's the places we visit: Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka pukara and Tambomachay.
DAY 01: CUSCO, QORICANCHA, SACSAYHUAMAN, QENQO, PUKA PUKARA & TAMBOMACHAY
Pick up at 12:45pm. The tour begins with a visit to Cusco Cathedral, renowned for its rich history, colonial architecture, and valuable works of art. Next, we explore Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), the most important Inca temple dedicated to their deities. This sacred site showcases the exquisite stonework of the Incas and later Spanish influence when it was converted into the Santo Domingo Convent.
We then continue to the impressive Sacsayhuamán esplanade, famous for its massive megalithic stone walls, some weighing over 100 tons, assembled with astonishing precision.
The tour continues to nearby archaeological sites:
Q’enqo – a ceremonial site with carved rocks and underground passages.
Puca Pucara – a military checkpoint and fortress offering panoramic valley views.
Tambomachay – known as the “Temple of Water,” with sacred fountains and aqueducts.
The tour concludes back at Cusco’s Plaza de Armas (Main Square), the heart of the city.
