ITINERARY

DAY 01: CUSCO - OLLANTAYTAMBO - AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO:

3:30-3:45am Early wake-up for your transfer from your hotel to Ollantaytambo, where you will board a scenic train ride along the Urubamba River, through the Sacred Valley, and onward to Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu – the “Lost City of the Incas.”

Upon arrival, your guide will meet you at the train station and accompany you on a 30-minute bus ride up to the Citadel. Here, you will enjoy a guided tour of the archaeological site, where you will learn about the history, architecture, and culture of this remarkable Inca citadel.

Following the tour, you will return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time for lunch (not included).

Later in the afternoon, you will board your train back to Ollantaytambo (departure time indicated on your ticket). Upon arrival, the transport will be waiting to drive you back to Cusco, with drop-off at the Plaza de Armas. The exact arrival time will depend on your train schedule.

Important to Know – Machu Picchu Regulations

According to the updated regulations, visitors are allowed only one entry into the Machu Picchu citadel. Once you exit (including to use the restroom), re-entry is not permitted.
