This includes a visit of the most colorful and traditional local market, as well as the place where you can buy traditional textiles at low prices. After your visit to the market our sightseeing continues as we drive along the beautiful Sacred Valley. This area was the breadbasket of the Incas and still produces large amounts of corn on the Inca terraces. Our next destination is Urubamba, which you´ll arrive to at approximately to enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants. From Urubamba it´s just 30 minutes to get to the last Inca ruins known as Ollantaytambo (Inca Palace). After your tour you will head to the train station, which is around 10 minutes by foot. Your train will depart to Aguas Calientes, which will be a 2-hour journey. Finally you will spend the night in the town of Aguas Calientes.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco:

Today is the most important day, since you will be visiting Machu Picchu. You will takes a 25 minute bus ride to get to Machu Picchu. Next, you will continue by foot (approx. 15-20 mins.) to the Qoricancha Museum where you will be able to view both Incan and Spanish history, art and architecture. A bus will meet you and the group and transfer you to the famous Sacsayhuaman Incan archeological site situated on a mountain overlooking Cusco. Sacsayhuaman, a walled-complex, is as with many other Inca constructions, made of large polished dry-stone walls, each boulder carefully cut to fit together tightly without mortar. Next, you will set course to Qenqo, also known as The Labyrinth. This temple, dedicated to Mother Earth, is a unique center of celebration and astronomical studies. It has numerous ceremonial carvings, holes, and canals cut into the rock. One of its features is a semi-natural underground chamber. Later on you will visit Pucapucara. This complex contains several rooms, inner plazas, aqueducts, vantage points, and pathways. It may have served as a tambo or rest and lodging area. Lastly, you will go to the archeological site of Tambomachay. Tambomachay is believed to have fulfilled an important altar function linked to water and the regeneration of the land and is closely linked with Pucapucara. The area covers about one hectare, and is made out of polygonal shaped set limestone. The bus will then transport you back to Cusco, arriving near the Plaza San Francisco, which concludes the tour.

You will be picked up at approx. 06:45am at the hotel in Puno and you will go to the port where you will begin your motorboat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca. The boat excursion of Lake Titicaca begins by visiting "The Uros Floating Islands", a small community that has lived on these reed Islands for decades. Centuries ago the small indigenous Uros tribe conceived of the islands as a way to isolate and protect them from rival tribes, the Collas and the Incas. The Uros people harvested the reeds in the shallows of the lake, bundled them together tightly and built floating island platforms complete with reed houses and canoes, creating in this way their own little world. After the tour of this Island we will continue towards Taquile Island where you will walk for approx. 30-40 minutes until you arrive to the town where you'll visit different traditional sites there. Here you will also have your lunch. Later in the afternoon you will return to Puno at approx. 4:30PM. You will be transferred back to the hotel and able to use the room again for rest. Day 6: Moray and Salt Mines bus tour:

You will meet at the office at 8am then proceed to the bus to begin the journey to the Sacred Valley, starting in Moray, which is about 38 km. northwest of Cusco. This is a very unique archaeological site in the region. Here you will see enormous natural depressions or hollows in the ground in which were used for constructing irrigated farming terraces around them. What is surprising is the difference between the average annual temperature at the top and at bottom. The main depression is about 30 mts (100 feet) deep. In these natural formations, nature has created environmental conditions, or microclimates, that modern day people create in greenhouses or hothouses. Towards the northwest of the Maras village, are the famous Òsalt-mines," where a considerable volume of solid salt is obtained. That solid granulated salt is then packed in sacks and sent to the region's markets; in modern times the salt has begun to be treated with iodine, thus, its consumption is not dangerous. In the late afternoon you will return you to Cusco near the Plaza San Francisco.
